This weekend we were given a very special gift for Chloe. A very wonderful friend's mom (Sandy Tidrington) gave me one of her childhood dolls. This lady's mother made it for her back when she was just a wee one. her mother took the greatest care and diligence creating this 2 foot high doll, and I know my words just won't do her justice until I can post a picture of her. She has dark chocolate skin, long dark hair pulled back at the sides, and an pretty old dress that is so delicate!
I have to admit this was a hard gift to receive. I am guessing this doll has been in this family for over 40 years! And yet it was so encouraging and wonderful to hear that Sandy knew when she heard about our adoption that this little doll was to be for our Chloe. So she sent her to our home with a lovely note and a donation tucked inside, and it brought tears to my eyes. It is soooo neat to see how others can begin to love a child they have never even met before this much already! I can't wait to introduce Chloe to Grandma Sandy who gave her her very first doll. I also can't wait to take a picture of Chloe with Sandy when she finally comes home.
Very soon I hope to take that picture of her and post it here to share :)
