Here is our official number for May 2011:
Sounds like an insurmountable number doesn't it? It sounds like it will take FOREVER right? Well, I am very proud of that number. For one, that means 100 other families are in the same boat we are: they felt led to adopt and not only that, but they are all actually acting on it. Taking care of orphans and widows in one of the most joyous, wonderful, and hands on ways possible. So to all of your ahead of us, we are praying for you as you make the journey ahead of us.
I am also very proud of this number because I know it is EXACTLY the right spot for us to be. God knows who she is (I am betting she is still just a twinkle in her momma's eyes), God knows which wee one should come join our family, and thus we rest tonight so happy and peaceful to be where we are.
It is funny how things work out.....we could have been on the list a month and a half ago if the rule that changed last week would have changed earlier since we were just waiting on our FDL. We would have gotten on it last week if we didn't have a few simple revisions to do. We would have gotten on it this morning a few numbers less, except for some odd reason there was a "mistake" in the delivery of my friend's reference letter getting to our agency. The "mistake" was that she paid for both air and land mail to overnight it, however after accidentally paying for both, the guy put on the wrong sticker so it got there this afternoon. I know it wasn't a mistake.....we are just right where we are supposed to be and soooo thankful!
Speaking of being thankful, THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this happen. As you can see on the left hand side bar, there are TONS of you who donated, wrote letters of reference, encouraged us that we could actually do this, stood by our side during the trying times, and more. Today all of your hard work has come to fruition....OK, not entirely, but you helped us get one step closer and 6 months later. So thank you!
And now the wait begins.............. I should take guesses on how long it will be until we have our referral.

I love this post. I have been feeling the same things lately, especially because we had to wait so long for our FDL, and we had some difficult revisions. But I know our numbers will be perfect!! Congratulations!
YAY!!! So excited for ya'll to have your very first number!!! Congratulations!!! Our first number was 93, so it was really big too! But you're right, we knew that God was aligning us perfectly with our daughter! Can't wait to see the baby girl He has chosen for your family!
