Our First Few Months Here

We moved here on September 20/October 1.  We say both because the date changed while flying over the Pacific Ocean!  In effect, Cameron had his 10th birthday in the air over the ocean.  The flight attendants could see (tears, sniffles, etc) that we were all struggling with this move.   Yes, moving to a tropical paradise always sound nice....until you are actually doing it.  We would have MUCH rather stayed in WA with our friends, family, home, learning center, etc.  But when the Lord calls you and brings you out (Deut. 1) He brings you in for a purpose.

So we landed and got settled into our half of a garage living quarters for the next few months.  The Muprhy family was so entirely kind, generous, and gracious to let us live with them until they moved out in December after building their home.  We actually enjoyed living in the garage as it was cozy.  The best thing was that it allowed us to save up money to ship our car over, buy a cheap car for Joe, and pay for our new homestudy that was required after such a major move.

Here are some more pics of our first few months.

The house (and garage) we lived in the first few months.  Now this is our home we are renting.

My first job here was taking care of Robert, a dear sweet lady with dementia.  Here Cameron was reading to her.

Lagoon 3 was a great starting point for getting our snorkeling skills on.

And boogie boarding!
