FBI Fingerprints Done! Passports ordered. Crying? DONE!

I noticed this week that I was feeling just a WEE bit overwhelmed.  I have a full time job as a mom, wife, and maid here at our home.  I also work a full time job homeschooling my two boys and teaching several hours per week at our ALE program.  Now I am also working many, many hours on this adoption paperwork and learning.  It has taken its toll this week.

I didn't know how stressful it would be.  Maybe if we were taking our time more.  Maybe if I had a twin.  Maybe if I didn't do all the other things I do in life.  Maybe if my kiddos were perfectly well behaved 24/7.  Maybe if all those things were true, I might not have cried so many times this week.  But alas, I did.

I also cried because what I thought was a really great fundraiser bombed.  We didn't have anyone....not one....person sign up to have their kiddos watched so they could have free time.  I tried really hard not to get too disappointed.  I tried really hard not to doubt.  I tried really hard, but honestly, I failed.  I was so heart broken.  It is difficult to not take that personally....at least for me.  Why didn't anyone sign up?  It is funny how those feelings of rejection can creep up into our lives at all the wrong moments.

So we took the day off today.  We did just one item of schooling, and then we had a day where I didn't work on anything really....corrected a few student papers.  The boys had a friend over.  Life was peaceful, stress-less, and so nice today.  I think I need to take a vacation day every week.  I didn't just notice the peace...the boys did too.  They didn't have a mom who was working overtime today.  We had such a wonderful day :)
