The Lord is so good to us....to encourage us with confirmations. This morning I felt there was another confirmation given to us. I was checking our paypal account this morning seeing if there was anyone to add to the list of those who are helping bring Chloe home and wouldn't you know it...there was a donation waiting for us from a family who are also in the process of adopting. I know this family is also raising funds for their own adoption, and yet they are helping us with ours? Crazy! Just another little confirmation that yes, we ARE on the right path. We ARE listening....we are obeying....we are acting out our faith and trust and love for God and His children. We prayed this prayer so many times over the past few years: "God, break our hearts for what breaks yours. Lead us in our walk with you. Lead us in what you want us to do. Help us make a difference. Use us Lord." We just didn't know it would be like this. And yet looking back, OF COURSE it would be like this.
God talks about taking care of orphans and widows over 500 times in His Word! He placed a love for Africa in my heart years ago....I always knew I wanted to go to Africa to hold the hands of those who were dying of AIDS. I couldn't stand the thought of them passing on without anyone there to hold their hand, wipe their tears, and pray for them. God put that passion in my heart. So of course we would be adopting from Africa.
Then we had always thought of adopting. We knew we had room for another one both in our homes and in our hearts. We both LOVE kids so much. God put me in a profession with them. So of course we would be adopting now.
And then there is the passion in our hearts for children, for the neglected, for the forgotten. I can't go into a retirement home without feeling a HUGE passion and love for the elderly. I wonder how that all fits into this equation seeing as how every passion the Lord has put on my heart He has cultivated into action in some way.
"Now faith is being SURE of what you hope for and CERTAIN of what you do not see." Hebrews 11:1
