He is Faithful to Answer Our Prayers

HUGE PRAYER REQUEST ANSWERED!!!!

I just realized this week that God has answered a rather HUGE prayer request of mine recently.  You see, when we started this whole adoption process, I think we did it more out of obedience to what the Lord was pressing on our hearts rather than really longing for a daughter.  I knew the Lord had called us to adopt, I knew He has confirmed it time and time again, and I knew there were things that He was constantly putting to peace in my mind and heart all along.

However there was this one thing that I still struggled with, and that was the question of:  Will I love this little girl immediately?  Will I begin to love her now?  Or will it happen when we see her picture finally?  Or will it be when we first meet her?

I struggled with not being in love with her already.  When you are pregnant (or at least when I was), I felt an immediate sense of love, joy, and bonding to my two boys.  However, with this "pregnancy" of sorts, I wasn't feeling those feelings at all and it bothered me (scared me really) to no end.  So I began to pray that He would fill my heart with a longing for her and replace that fear and awkward feeling inside my heart with a deep sense of love for our little one far away.

However I have to say (with thankfulness and tears in my eyes!) that God is faithfully answering that prayer!!!  This week more than ever I have sensed such a huge depth of love for her.  I LONG to hold her.  I long to have her here in our home.  I long to see who she is, what she likes, what her personality is going to be like.  Maybe it has been the whole MoWA issue.  Not sure exactly, but I know that when we pray and ask God for things that align with His will, for things that please His heart, for things that bring glory to Him, he is faithful to answer our prayers as He sees fit.

And this is one happy, THANKFUL, joyful, peaceful, longing, loving momma who just wants her baby girl home!  Thank you Lord for hearing the longing of my heart and answering it.  Just one more confirmation that we are right in the center of His will for our family.

And thanks for listening :)
