A friend of mine shared a book with me a few weeks ago. It is called, Wild Goose Chase. I was reading the book one night, and it was talking about how God didn't create us for a life of comfort and safety. Yes, he does comfort us and take care of us, but we were also created to live an adventure for Him. Sharing our faith, seeing others come to Him, serving Him in the most difficult circumstances, going out on a limb and letting Him increase your faith. Letting Him guide us through adventures which He will use to strengthen us, build our faith, grow and refine our character, and use us as a witness to His character and love.
So I sat and pondered that idea. I thought about our life here in WA, and I realized that we do have a pretty safe life. We have a routine down, and it runs smoothly. We homeschool with ease. Our church life is pretty wonderful although pretty comfortable too. Everything in our life is rather easy it seems.
Then I remembered a year or so ago when I was praying for God to increase my faith and use whatever circumstances He deemed appropriate (hard, challenging, heart wrenching....you name it) to refine me even more. You see, I love my Lord. I long for Him to use me. I want to be clay more than anything in this world.
After pondering the idea that we, as Christians, should follow God and His Spirit on any wild goose chase He leads us in, I realized that we are doing just that. This is a "Wild Goose Chase." And yet it sounds just like what God would do. He will use this adoption process to grow our faith, refine our character, and do the same for our children too. My prayer is that He would do the same for others who witness our journey of adoption.
My prayer is that you, yes you, would also evaluate your own life. Is it safe, comfortable, and easy to handle? Has the Lord been speaking to you about getting out of your comfort zone? Do you feel as though He is leading you on a Wild Goose Chase?
Follow! Consider it an adventure! Take up the shield of faith, and follow the Lord with all your heart. For the blessings will be many and the reward and growth too great to pass up and settle for the simple, comfortable, safe life.
Prov. 16:9 "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."

Love it!! I can already tell God is going to use you in this blog, to help others follow Him, step out of our "comfort" and live the life that He has for us. I can't wait to do a post about you on my blog. I have quite a few AGCI followers and they have been amazing. I feel like they are some of my dearest friends because they have the same heart that I do. I know it sounds weird, but this blog world has really been amazing to me. Make sure you click "follow" on my blog so you can get updates as they come. I don't put all of them on FB.
